Charge for a VAT return?
Permalink Closed

Hi all

I've just taken on my first book-keeping client who is VAT registered. They require me to prepare their VAT return, but I'm not sure whether I should charge this as a separate item, or include it in my hourly rate?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers

James

Hi James

I always bill for vat returns as a separate item, although I have friends who produce them inclusive of the monthly fee. The choice is yours, the important thing is to make sure your cover your time.
