Institute of Certified Bookkeepers - membership levels
Permalink Closed

Hi,

I'm thinking of joining the ICB and studying for their exams.

However, whilst their website tells you about the membership levels (ie Associate, Member etc) it doesn't tell you anything about the academic and / or practical experience which is required for the different membership grades.

Does anyone know what requirements have to be met for each of the different levels of membership (Assoicate, Member, Fellow)?

The ICB dont ask for any level or academic/experience to take their exams as they dont provide the training. Its easy for them, they set an exam and you sit it. Pass or fail.

The organisatons who provide the training dont care either as you pay them for the material needed to pass and the rest is kind of up to you.

I have passed the basic certificate and am going to sit my manual bookkeeping exam in Feb. It really is down to you to apply yourself. A bit of an aptitude for mathematics helps but apart from that its down to perserverance. (spelling isnt essential he he)

I hope this helps?

Jak
