I have just finished the ICB level 1 and 2 Bookkeeping course and am intending to start looking for clients. i mentioned this to my tutor and he more or less intimiated that i really would need to do Level 3 before looking for clients - i can understand the rationale behind this however i just wanted to ask if -
1. I would be well enough equipped to do sole traders books with level 1 and 2 under my belt
2. Does anybody know a good course provider as my provider would be charging me £1000 to do level 3 which seems a bit steep.
I am too looking for clients, having passed the level 1 & 2. This qualification should be enough for the sole trader/self employed hopefully get some income. Who did you do your course with? I did open learning (TDLC), I understand the level 3 is about couple hundred less. Certainly they are seem to good to get on with (college and tutor)!
I went with TDLC as well and it was good however i must admit that the quote of £1000 is putting me off going back to them, i got a quote from Ideal Schools and they are about £200 and they are recommended by the ICB.
I am also just starting out on my own bookkeeping service. I did levels ll and on Level lll now and these are from the Distance Learning Partnership which are advertised on the ICB website. Both courses for £265, bad at all, you get value for money and they are also excellent courses.
