I'm new to this forum only found it by typing in an incorrect url !!! so glad I did though
Recently came across a website that was selling course materials for ICB and IAB quals - and the materials were extremely reasonable starting from just £10 - but with no tuition attached, but I'm sure that if you dropped them a line on their enquiry page you would probably get a response to any query
I've used their materials previously when studying for the ICB qual.
I had the option to either be able to have them sent to me by email as a pdf attachment or for an extra £5 could have them sent on a CD - I opted for the CD version as I wasn't sure that my email would cope with a large download !
I am currently study towards ICB, how detailed were the manuals that you recieved, have you compared them to any other books / courses? For £10 they seem very reasonable, but then again it depends on the quality.
the notes I received were excellent - they were at the very least comparable to the ones a colleague of mine paid over £300 pounds for from the Distance Learning Partnership - obviously the main difference was that there was no tuition attached to the £10 package - didn't take them up on the mock exam though, just ordered a few from the ICB directly as they came with the anwers so I was able to work through them and anything that was a bit tricky I contacted my uncle who is now a retired accountant - he says enlightened !!
I was interested in your product and made an enquiry today, imagine my surprise when I recieved an email back asking for payment to be made to you, saying that you were the course tutor.
If your going to deny that you are not anything to do with this company, then make sure you won't be found out.
Its a bit underhand to promote a company on this forum by pretending to be a satified customer.
I am sorry Joanne has taken the website offline, that's your choice, there are many other ways to promote your business, but people certainly do not want to be mislead, you may well offer a legitimate course, if so then why not try promoting it via google pay per click adwords or similar, I don't know if you can advertise on here or not, I suspect not, you would need to check the rules of the forum.
Just a note that The Book-keepers Forum does not allow advertising on any of it's forums. If you have a solution which involves recommending a product or service you are associated with, then we ask that you make your association clear in your post. No blatant sales messages either please.
We have watched this thread with interest and it appears that the forum rules have not been adhered to in this instance. However this thread appears to have resolved it self.
We will enforce the rules of the forum where necessary in order to keep The Book-keepers Forum a quality discussion forum, which will hopefully benefit all book-keepers and members.
Best wishes,
The Book-keepers Forum Team Please direct any further queries regarding this to: forums@bookcert.co.uk.
