Hi all,

I have already posted a few times but I thought I'd also give a brief intro here too.

My name is Tim and I have been a self-employed professional bookkeeper for 3 years now.  I started with my first client and now have a very full order book!  I have no formal bookkeeping qualifications but I taught myself manual bookkeeping when I was in business a long time ago and so I have always had a basic understanding of double-entry bookkeeping.  However I made a conscious decision 2 years ago to step things up a level and start studying for a more formal accountancy qualification so that I could offer my clients (current and future) accountancy services as well as bookkeeping.  I started to study for my AAT qualification by Distance Learning and now only have 2 more exams to go!  I now have 5 accounts clients, 3 sole traders and 2 partnerships.  I do not yet feel confident enough to take on any Limited Co accounts.  My ultimate aim is to have enough accountancy to concentrate on that and maybe employ a bookkeeper to service my existing bookkeeping clients.

I hope to be able to make a valuable contribution to this forum.

Kind regards to all,
Tim
