I am currently considering a career change into the world of book keeping. I have found this website very useful in making this decision and how to get there. I am looking at getting the Bookcert course for its marketing advice and also doing the Level 1 & 2 ICB course plus Sage with Ideal Schools for the certification and ICB back-up. I am hoping to be able to do this along side a full time day job and then gradually reduce my permanent job hours as I build up the bookkeeping business - I am not expecting anything to happen quickly! In the meantime I will keep visiting your very useful site!
Welcome to the forum Mrs Fireeyestiger. I did the same thing when I was starting out and I found having a full time job helped take the pressure off building up my client base too quickly. It enabled me to pick the clients and type of business I wanted to take on, which has left me with a quality client base.
Hope everything goes well for you.
Dustin

It is good to remain in your full time job, build the business up, and then you can gradually move from being an employee to an employer.
I have done this and it works. I am a single mother of two, I run a bookkeeping business, I do freelance training and consultancy for companies, I am a life coach, and still manage to have a balance life.
If I can do it, I am sure you can...go on you can only suceed!
