Hi all

There's probably some posts on this already but I can't get the forum search to work; so that's why I'm having to ask.

I've got the ICB Level 1 & Level 2 Comp .. Can anyone give me details on, or review the Bookcert course.

It sounds interesting but seems quite a lot to spend if I'm not really going to get much from it.

Any help appreciated

Thanks

Hi Wesker,

I bought the Bookcert kit over 12 months ago and consider it a worthwhile purchase. I had just completed the level I ICB qualification and, like many others, had no idea where to start in regarding setting up a business. The kit is very good and will always be useful to refer back to if necessary. It has been updated and expanded since I purchased mine so you will be getting more for your money now! Hopefully some other people on the forum who've also bought the kit will come along and give an opinion as well.

Rob

Thanks for you reply Rob, hopefully others will give their opinion.

So, have you actually started a business etc since having the Bookcert course then? What type of things do they actually show you that arn't covered by the ICB?
I prefer to hear what people have to say about courses etc before buying, instead of reading sales banter.

Cheers

I purchased the Bookcert kit six months ago and been really pleased with it. About a month ago I was contacted by Bookcert who said they were releasing a Sage training cd and now including it in the kit. They said they would like to send me a free copy with their compliments. I was happy to accept the offer and I've been really impressed with it. It's nice to know that you're not forgotten once you've made a purchase.

Yes me !

I too bought the Bookcert pack and recommend it as a very good investment.
Lots of tips and advice on how to set yourself up, marketing, legal requirements etc.,

The pack is split into two clear sections, first one on the basics of doing accounts, both written text and cd run you through this which will take you up to trial balance.   Comes complete with a cash book to install for use in your business.

Second part is on the actual setting up, this is what I really bought it for, as I did not have a clue how to start !  This also comes with a cd with a host of templates you may need to run your business.

For me, it was a good purchase.

Julie

Is all the text actual physical books, it's not just one book and a bunch of ebooks on cd or anything like that then ?

The printed training material is in a folder, and the CD's were for the cash book, training CD's and templates. There are no ebooks included as far as I remember.

Hi Wesker

I have purchased the Bookcert pack a few months ago and I have started my own
bookkeeping practice.
Its very useful from the point of setting up a business from start esp. a bookkeeping one.
I would recommend it based on my experience.

Best of luck!

Roberto

I see this thread started in 2008 even though the last one was just a few months ago.

I, too, have been wondering about purchasing the Kit and wonder if people still think it worthwhile? (Why did janellis want to sell, for example?)

Has anyone used the mentoring service?

Is anyone here a mentor?

Iain
