I am hoping to start a bookkeeping business at home. I am already employed full-time and was hoping to do this part-time focusing on sole traders and then hopefully move on to bigger things. I did my AAT foundation and intermediate level about seven years ago but not the Advanced level.
Now I am interested to do ICB Level 1 & 2, does anyone know whether i am exempt from level 1 or not. Also if i am interested in doing sole traders for now is it best to do Manual or computerized?
I think the exemptions need to be recent similar qualifications. I looked into this in September 2007 when I bought level 3 manual bookkeeping course not realising you needed the first 2. I was told if you could get a signed letter from a qualified accountant saying you have relevant experience to be exempt from a level you could, but you had to pay exemptions so I just took the exams for each level without doing a course.
