Self assessment online extension
Permalink Closed

Hi all,
I have been asked to help out a young girl to produce accounts for her self assessment return.
She had already registered with HMRC for online filing but lost her activation code and was given an extension.
Does anyone know whether there is a blanket extension being given to all these people until 10th Feb or if the dates are different in each case - she is not sure if she has until 7th or 10th!!!

Obviously she (and me - I havent even seen her accounts yet!) is up against a very tight deadline now so any help would be appreciated.

Many thanks

Ali

Hi Ali

I've heard that those who received their activation codes late have slightly extended submission periods, 7 days seems about right. Don't think there is a blanket extension though and it's probable that each individual is dealt with on case by case basis. If the girl isn't sure she'd be wise to contact HMRC to ensure she doesn't fall foul of a £100 fine!
