Hi i have a small Ltd company and my 2 children aged 15 and 16 work for me after school and in school holidays. On my books am I ok just showing wages paid to them weekly at £100 a week or do i need to inform the IR or do anything else?confuse

They need to complete forms 38s (i think) which states that they are in full time employment ( I would also complete a p46 for both and keep it on file. Have a look at www.hmrc.gov.uk/paye/employees/start-leave/special/students

I might be out of order here but have you got employment licences for them from the local education authority.
It is something a lot of people forget about and there are restrictions to the hours that they can be employed.

HI thanks for your replys and help. I didn't know anything about licences. I know what hours they can work but didn't know i needed a licence for them. Is this the law?

yes, it is the law. My son, who is now 31, had to have a licence for delivering newspapers 15 years ago, and my last boss had to get licences for his daughters because he put them on the books to offset their pocketmoney as "wages expenses".
Suggest you speak with the school or LEA.

I don't know anything about licences but I think you're doing well to get them to work!! I asked my 12 year old to feed the cat last night and he looked at me as if I'd asked him to cut his foot offbiggrinbiggrin

I know they are horrified it's like "OMG evileye you want ME to do that!!!!

When I was a 15 year old I would have done some work for £100 per week!
