R&D Reclaim ???
Permalink Closed

Hello All, has anyone ever been involved with an R&D claim 9Research and development). I used to work for a company a couple of years ago who always claimed some of their employees wages back through R&D. Can anyone help me with this i.e. info?

Kind Regards

Darren

Hi, I have had a little experience with this in the electronics industry.

We would claim 50% for R & D supplies and up to 100% on wages if the employee was working on R & D all the time. I beleive it depends on the industry.

The Tax credit is written off against corporation tax and is a wonderful way to reduce taxes. BUT beware, its a very very grey area and open to interpretation, the Inland Revenue can also audit your books to make sure that the claims are really for R & D, so everything has to be air tight.

I suggest you check with an accountant who specialises with R & D as getting this wrong could lead to serious consequences.
