ICB - Level 3 advice
Permalink Closed

Despite the fact that I have recently lost a bit of faith in the ICB, I have paid out quite a lot of money in courses, membership fees, past papers etc so I think that I am going to stick with them.

I will find out next month if I passed the level 2 manual exam and am getting ready within the next few weeks to take my level 1 and then 2 computerised exams.

I think that whilst I am quiet on the work front, I am going to push ahead with the studying and would like to do the ICB level 3 diplomas in Bookkeeping, Payroll Management, Self Assessment and Small Business, although I'm not sure in which order.

Has anyone taken any of these courses?  Did you find them useful?

I am thinking of going via Ideal Schools but I have already paid around £2000 to study levels 1 and 2 manual and computerised with LSOC so if there are any text books that I could use to help lighten the cost, that would be great, although I am thinking that I will need to use a course provider as level 3 might be too complicated to self teach?

Any ideas, thoughts or suggestions are great appreciated

Terri

Hi Terri

I bought the ICB level 3 in September 2007 (before realising you needed the other levels first) from Ideal School. The tutor support is for 2 years, I sent two of the modules away for marking and got back and they have comments from tutor and what mark you would get if it was an exam. Because I have been too busy and things are up in the air with whether I will stay with ICB I will miss the chance of the tutor support. But the modules that you get are self explanatory and used alongside Business Accounts by David Cox

Paperback: 640 pages
Publisher: Osborne Books Ltd; 3New Ed edition (5 Jul 2004)
Language English
ISBN-10: 1872962637
ISBN-13: 978-1872962634

I bought the course on an offer with Ideal School at £149 but that was back in 2007. I know that if you ask the Ideal School can do a coursework price only (no tutor support) and it is considerably lower I believe and if you have time to sit and work through the modules yourself would say it is good enough and buy practise past papers.
