ICB Level 3 Manual
Permalink Closed

Hi all

I just wanted to get some advice on the best route to achieve the above.  I have just passed level 2, and wanted to knowwhether it was advisable to go through a provider, such as Ideal schools who I used for levels 1 & 2, or whether a text book and past papers would be enough?

Any advice would be welcomed.

Thanks

Andy

Hi Andy,

I bought the 'Advanced Bookkeeping' book from the ICB website for about £30 and although I found this useful there are some topics (e.g. limited companies) which are not covered too well. I purchased the 'Book-Keeping and Accounts' 7th edition by Frank Wood and Sheila Robinson which more than compensated and also there are lots of exercises you can try out.

I find that if you use only textbooks it is best not just to rely on one for any particular course. That way you are less likely to miss anything. You could get books from your local library for general bookkeeping and accounting principles but be aware that most of them will probably be out of date.

Of course, obtaining past papers will also help.

Also, it depends on whether you are comfortable without the use of a tutor.

Good luck!

Peter
