IAB Level 3 Manual & Comp - How to get to It
Permalink Closed

Hi People, hope you can help!

I wish to take the IAB Level 3 Man/Comp papers asap and am confused about the best route as not many providers offer courses at this level.
I have an accounts background though have not worked for a number of years due to ill-health but no want to get back into the saddle as it were.

Have found a provider in west London [London School of Accountancy] which offers a 3-day revision course in IAB Level 3 CB in January followed by the formal exam.
Does anyone know of this course? Does a rev. course imply you have to hit the ground running?

If so, what to do? Should I do a IAB Level 2 CB to practice leading up to that L3 rev. course? IAB says I could study for different levels concurrently, and was wondering if this is best.
I have found somewhere which offers the IAB Level 3 manual course but that is for next April.

Can any anyone help guide me through what to do?
Thanks

Hi

I did the Level 3 CB course last year and although I had enough experience to have done well on Level 2CB the jump from Level 2 to 3 was quite hard (well i found so anyway)  even the tutor on the course was surprised at the amount to cover in the 10 weeks.  I have to also say that at the time of taking it i had not done  a manual book keeping course and consequently struggled with some double entry issues(have done now so that has been a great help - am planning to do Level 3 manual  and Level 3 CB again ( yes I failed 1st time round)

Why not ask the provider (LSA)if you could have a go at a Level 3 CB past paper to see if you think  just doing the revision course would be sufficient for you to then go and do the exam?  This way you would get a feel for just how much you know/how confident you feel and would help you make a decision on whether you need to take a longer Level 3 CB course or just do the revision one then straight into an exam.  You might even be able to get a past paper from the IAB??

As regards a Level 3 manual , training, you could try www.octobertraining.co.uk as they do home study courses and i think from what i have heard that they are quite good.
