Charging an accountant
Permalink Closed

Hi

I have recently sent a mailshot to local accountants basically offering my services. I have just had an email back from one of them requesting more information including charges.
I just wanted to ask if any of you do bookkeeping work for an accountant do you still charge them your standard hourly rate for the type of work you would be completing, I don't want to get the pricing wrong and so price myself out of it or undercharge and they think I don't know what I am doing.

Thanks for your help

Regards

Mark

HI

The advise I was given from an accountant when I first started out was to charge the same rate as what you do clients. This was an initial meeting with an accountant who asked me my price, I told them and then they asked if that was my standard rate, they said I had answered correctly because it should be standard rate that it best not to either lower it or higher it for accountants, and they told me after I explained that I had researched the prices in my area before setting my price they said that too was a good thing.
