Hi all,

Whoever replies, thanks, just registered after finding the site and so far it has answered a couple of ??'s already, so great.

Just registered to do ICB Level I, II manual and Level II Comp. with My Course up here in Scotland for home-sudy. Waiting on 1st course materials. Has anybody used them ?

On home-study, what would the study time-scales be for the courses generally ? I am at home now looking after the toddler, so have quite a bit of time to study (one hopes !).

Thats all for now, and again, thanks for any replies smile

HI

I would say with the amount of time it takes you depends on whether you have any bookkeeping experience or if it is all new to you.

Would say if new to you would say best to allow 6 months per level, if experience would say that you can do it quite fast. I took my level 1 manual in October 2007 just took the home based exam without studying for it, level 2 manual I got in February 2008 just went to one revision seminar then did the exam, level 2 computerised and level 3 computerised I took in March/April 2008.

Hi Jordan

I started from scratch having known nothing about bookkeeping. At the time I started my little boy was just 5 months old so I only had evenings and the times during the day when he was asleep to study.

I managed to get through IAB Certificates 1 and 2 self study courses beginning in February and I was ready to take the exam by June so just over 4 months in total.

Hope that helps and good luck!

Leigh

I just wanted to say good luck with the studying, I know how hard it can be to study around young children. When I started studying my level 1 manual, my son was 8 months old - now he is three and I have a one year old - it can be tough at times but stick with it, it will be really worth it
