I've passed my level 2 manual exam with ICB and I've just about learnt enough Sage Accounts plus to sit my computerised exam. When I've passed I will apply for my practising certificate and want to start looking for clients.
HOWEVER
I'm not sure what to do about software. I can't afford to buy Sage line 50 and especially as invisage only having 1-2 clients for a while it would seem like a waste on money.
I'm sure I read on a post that you could ask each client to buy single user sage and then you could use it on your computer, but I've no idea how this works. I'm due to have a baby in February so working from a clients office on their computer won't be an option.
I've also read that a few people use VT Transaction +.
What do you all of you guys do? I'm sure there must be loads of people in the same situation.
Hi, What about Quickbooks, I use Pro 2008 and found it very good, it cost me I think form memory about £280 from Amazon. You can have up to 99 clients and its similar to Sage. Very user friendly unlike SAGE does more or less the same. Fi you go on Quickbooks website and have a look. Its made by INTUIT. Its american, some accountants use it and is now becoming more popluar, for the accountants that don't use it you can run the reports off and give them them.
Thanks for the advice, I'll have a look at this as well. It's good to know there are feasible alternatives, I think I was getting a bit tunnel visioned assuming sage was the only way forward!
