Voluntary working

Hi all,

Ive had lots of interviews and applied for Temping work via agencies to gain further experience of working within an office enviroment, but with no sucess.  I am thinking of volunteering my services and wondered what you all think? For those who are in business would you consider someone volunteering to work with you  one or two days a week.

I am qualfied in Bookkeeping and now studying the AAT at college.

Hi Michelle,

I have just started volunteer work for a horse sanctuary and even though I am still studying they were very kind to show me how their book keeping sysem works, I really enjoy it and it helps to have hands on experience whilst training, although this is a manual system it is still beneficial. I personally would give it a go as you don't know where it could lead in the future.

All the best.

Lisa

Hi Michelle

I went on the site http://www.do-it.org.uk/ unfortunately there are not many book-keeping jobs so you will have to keep returning to the site. But I think you can have an email sent to you on a weekly basis or monthly of any new positions.

let me know how you get on.

Lisa

Michelle - Look and see if you have a local volunteer bureau where you live, they'll find you something.

Dear Sir/Madam,
I am interested in an opportunity to volunteer with accounting company in London as Assistant Accountant. I am currently in the process of completing a CIMA qualification, and additionally have both Bachelors and Masters degrees. I am familiar with Sage 50 Accounts, I can use Excel to an advanced level, and am also competent using other key office applications. I have some experience in Purchase Ledger, Sales Ledger, Bank reconciliations, Accruals / Repayments
and assisting with monthly / quarterly / yearly management accounts. Unfortunately all my experience is gained abroad, but I am passionate about pursuing a career in accountancy and I am a fast learner. I would love to work and help you for free and gain UK based experience in return.
If Your company has a need for a dedicated volunteer, I would be thrilled to have the opportunity to assist. My schedule is flexible and I am available for immediate start.
Please do not hesitate to e-mail me ( ivo_z_ivanov@yahoo.co.uk) so we can arrange an interview to discuss my application in greater depth. I look forward to hearing from you.

Yours faithfully,

Ivelin Ivanov
