Hi John,

You do mean ABC AAT don't you, not ABC ATT?

ABC AAT is £175 from BPP. Good call is you want to learn bookkeeping fast, the course is an excellent introduction... Bit expensive though but you sound as though this is the way that you want to go.

A cut down version of it is actually given away with the Open University course B680 and you have to do it before you start on accountancy studies. That's where I know the course from.

Its not something that you see coming up for sale very often as unlike accountancy books it never become obsolete or outmoded.

As I'm pretty sure that you're talking about the same material that I did you really shouldn't need to go on a course. Just get hold of the training materials and apply a bit of dedication and you'll be through it in no time.

If you can't get a second hand copy you will find all of the details for how to get a new copy at WWW.BPP.COM. Download the catalogue and it's in amongst all of the AAT stuff. You can also buy it over the counter in some Waterstones (I saw it last year in the one in Birmingham).

Have you contemplated doing AAT rather than this bookkeeping course? In the long term having AAT or CAT may prove more beneficial to you.

Its up to you though. Good luck in trying to track down a copy.

Shaun.

Hi john,

don't know if it's of interest to you.

Just found out that the bookkeeping course has been broken out of the Open university Certificate in accountancy and is now available as a separate module :

B190 An introduction to bookkeeping and accounting. It costs £295 and I believe that it's about the same level (written by the same people I think) as the ABC AAT.

Have a look at both and see which one appeals most to you / is more cost effective.

Talk soon,

Shaun.
