Once a receive my results I intend to start my own bookkeeping business and I wonder if anyone can give me some advice. I am based in South Wales but I can travel including London.

Hi Marco

Congratulations on sitting your exams - I hope you get the results you want.

If you are looking for financial help, business link is a good place to start. See www.businesslink.gov.uk/bdotg/action/layer?r.s=tl&r.l1=1073858790&r.lc=en&topicId=1073866776 they can give advice on any fuding that is available in your area.

It is good that you are getting practical experience in an accountancy office and you should keep this relationship up as it may be a source of work for you in the future.

On setting up you should tell everyone what you are doing as you never know where work may come from. Speak to family, friends, neighbours, put it on networking sites etc and ask people to tell other people.

Reseach networking events in your area, some let you attend as a guest before you join. You should attend several and find ones that are right for you as they differ greatly with some being very formal and others more relaxed. Prices also vary.

Finally, keep posting on this forum as there are some great people on here who were in your position who will have lots of invaluable advice.

Kind regards

Zöe
