Morning Bob,

I don't think that this is a widely used one.

Try out this review.

http://moverve.com/blog/2007/01/review-of-turbocash/

Just had a read myself and the comments at the end make interesting reading. including "This is the worst accounting package on the market" posted by Nitin. and "Spent hours trying to figure it out and couldn't believe how hard it was" posted by Jay Webler.

Have a read yourself. But really doesn't sound much like the sort of software that you want to get involved with.

cheers,

Shaun.

Can't find any reviews of it but something called Adminsoft got a mention by people discussing Turbocash. Might be worth looking into that one as well.

As always, be careful with anything that comes free as could also come with worms, trojans, keyloggers, virus's and other malware and because you paid nothing for it you have no comeback as there is no contract (Which requires offer, acceptance and consideration).

Personally I think that VT Transaction+ is the bee's knee's but that probably just because of the spreadsheet mode. (I'll always be an Excel bunny at heart).

cheers,

Shaun.

Hi Bob,

I downloaded Turbocash a while back and could not fathom it out at all, so uninstalled that pretty quick.

I agree with Shaun I have been doing my daughters books on VT Transaction+ to get a feel for it, and really like it. I like it so much I am going to buy it when the free period ends and try and get any future clients onto this. Its really simple to use and any mistakes can be easily corrected without journals etc. You just click and edit. Simple.
Would say the only thing I don't like is that I can't use any letters in the sales invoice number, and my daughter does her own invoices (although you can do them on VT) and she has letters and numbers. Unless I am missing something Shaun?

Denise

Hi Denise,

afraid that I'm just an amateur with it myself at the moment about a week into the free trial. I know that there are lots of people on this site who swear by it (rather than at it as in the case of Sage!) and it was on their good advice that I downloaded it.

Like yourself I'll be purchasing it at the end of the trial period not least because there's no restriction as to the number of clients that you can have on it plus, you can give the cashbook software out free of charge... Or at least tell your clients where to download it from free of charge anyway.

So far the only thing that I dislike about VT Transaction+ is it's Icon and one can soon change that.

Talk soon,

Shaun.

Well from one who has been doing quite a lot of swearing at Sage recently, VT transaction+ has definitely got the thumbs up.

I even quite like the icon !clap.gif

Hi

Thanks to all for saving me a whole truck load of problems.

However, I will probably HAVE to use SAGE for the exams (?)

VT Transaction+ homepage is http://www.vtsoftware.co.uk/

£150 (reducing to £99) is a pretty high subscription for someone
just starting out.

Is it true it can be used for the books of more than one client on
the same PC and the one license ?
That would make it a whole lot different.

cheers biggrin

Evening Bob,

there's no limitation of clients on VT Transaction+ which is what makes it so appealing. With Sage you have to sell your children for medical experiments if you want more than 10 clients!

The version that you download is actually the full unrestricted version that you buy so if you wanted to test out multiple clients now there's nothing to stop you.

Have a serious play before you buy though as it looks a lot more basic than it's competition and may not be the package for everyone (even though I've yet to hear anyone say a bad word about it).

cheers,

Shaun.
