Useful literature and reference
Permalink Closed

Hi,

I am just starting up self employed bookkeeping and am looking to enhance my library. I would like some books/ literature that I can refer to when I need to and was wondering if anyone can recomend any. I have all my Kaplan books but feel they are probably not enough in the way of reference in the real world.

Any suggestions please.

Pegs

Pegs,

I would definitely recommend 'Book-keeping and Accounts' by Frank Wood and Sheila Robinson - 7th edition (ISBN 978-0-273-71805-5).

Happy reading!

I find osborne books (aat) very easy to understand and has examples of how to do everything from double entry, prepayments and accruals to tax returns and final accounts.

This may be more than you require but you could chose which ones you would like to read up on. I am also buying how to set up an online business as it has good info on website, google, adwords etc and would be helpful for the marketing side of things to hopefully win more business!
