ICB and AAT

Hi

Can you help me please.

I have signed up with the HLC for Manual Bookkeeping 1 and Computerised Bookkeeping 2, and found that the syllabus just about gives enough to get me through Manual Bookkeeping 2 as well.

After all the talk about the AAT I called them on Friday and got told that I had to sign up with a college or Distance Learning College to take their exams.  Given the amount of money that I have paid for HLC I do not want to get ripped off again.

Can anyone recommend a Distance Learning College that does not rip you off, and provides reasonable support to get through the AAT exams.

I fully intend to take the ICB exams and get my AICB, but want to keep on working towards more qualifications. I am finding the course that I have taken relatively easy and am getting lots of good reports from the HLC.  I want to set up my own business once qualified to start the difficult process of finding work.

Have been doing marketing and finding out some very interesting information, that makes me quite hopeful that finding business may not be too bad in London.

Any assistance that any one could provide would be most welcome.

Kind regards

Peter

Hi Peter,

Premier training seem to come highly recommended as a distance learning provider for AAT.

cheers,

Shaun.

Hi Shaun

The prices between Premier Training and HLC are somewhat different to say the least.

Am I doing the right thing jumping to the AAT after taking the ICB exams?

Kind regards

Peter

Hi Peter,

Short answer...

Yes.

The AAT is a well respected organisation. Just look at all the jobs ads for AAT qualified people compared to the... Well basically none... for ICB qualified people.

There seems to be two really well reported training providers on this site. Premier Training and Ideal Schools but Ideal don't unfortunately do AAT only CAT which whilst more or less the same syllabus as AAT, AAT is definitely out in the lead at the moment.

Good luck with the transition Peter,

talk later,

Shaun.

Hi Shaun

I have been watching the messages flying about the changes to the ICB.  I contacted my tutor about the changes and she says that the changes for becoming an AICB and having to take both the computerised and manual exams do not come in until 2011.

Is she correct?

Kind regards

Peter
