Hi Folks, Ive just started the ICB level one & two manual and computerised with Premier Training ( distance learning) Their discussion boards are pretty empty and I wondered if I could find anyone via this site who is doing the same level course so we could swap note / tips! study buddy anyone???
I am doing ICB Levels 1,2, and 3 manual and 2 and 3 Computerised distance learning with Ideal Schools. I have passed Level 1 and am studying to take Level 2 in June.
How are you finding it with Premier Training? I started doing the AAT course with them a couple of years ago, but had to give up due to ill health and I found them very good.
Hi Pauline, Im in northants and have just had our third baby hence the ditance learning. So far Im loving the course, I found it hard to choose which one to do but after having a good chat with premier i chose ICB, whether that was the right move we will see! My study time comes in fits and starts whenever madam is sleeping so I tend to make the most of the snap shots that i get! Ive just done half of the first assignment and got the accounts to balance so Im really pleased. anyways, better go as I hear her warbling, best of luck, fiona
You're brave, trying to study with a new baby I have three children as well, but my youngest is 20
Glad to hear you got things to balance. Surprising what a good feeling that gives you isn't it! Do you have bookkeeping experience as well? I'm in Essex, so rather far away for a study buddy...
I am also doing ICB levels 1, 2 & 3. I have just finished level 1 and am about to start level 2. I am with Ideal Schools and they have been really helpful and the course material is really easy to understand - unlike the books I have read before.
12 years ago I did some bookkeeping for my mum's law firm and although I liked the work I hated the worry of handling my mum's business finances because I could see all the money problems. Also I had no training and that meant I had no confidence in my work.
I started my course in September but since then my 3 year old has had 2 open heart surgeries to repair and eventually replace her mitral valve so my studying has been a little hit and miss.
I enjoy it though and it has given me my brain back, although perhaps I should wait until I get my level 1 exam result before I say that.
I am weighing up whether or not to take the level 2 exam in June or wait until October. I will have to get all 6 assignments done and marked before then, I probably could do it but with my daughter having just had her second surgery I am not sure what will come up and bite me in the meantime.
Welcome to the forum. Sorry to hear about your daughter. I hope she is recovering well When do you expect your Level 1 result?
Personally I would wait until October to take your Level 2, especially as you haven't really started it yet. Bearing in mind the cost of the exam you don't want to have to do it more than once and you will only put yourself under undue stress if you try to rush it. Especially as you have other concerns as well!
