Happy new tax year

Just think that this should be an annual date of special significance for us the same as new years day marks a new calendar year.

Maybe Hallmark will cotton on and start a new line in cards. It doesn't normally take much for them to jump on any bandwagon.

So, what should accountants and bookkeepers give each other on April the 6th each year. What would be a good tradition to adopt?

Anyway, Happy New Tax Year to one and all. Hope that this proves to be a particularly prosperous one for all of us.

Shaun.

Almost missed it. Of course the 50p tax rate gets born today as well doesn't it. Think that we should send a balloon or card or something to No. 11?

They already get enough gifts from me during the year!

Careful if they get too many balloons and cards, they will introduce a rubber and paper tax.

A belated happy new tax year to you all!

Been a little distracted the past few months - think I was suffering from SAD and fed up with the snow and rain.  But the new tax year has cheered me up so what about giving each other some new lead for our pencils as hopefully we will all need it in abundance this tax year.

Cheers
Jane

Happy new tax year to you too Jane

Pretty sure JR and Bobby don't need any more lead for their pencils

Have to agree with that one although they may say you can never have too much lead.  I'm glad I logged back in this week as the Dallas theme has given me a lift in my spirits, although I don't like to admit I'm old enough to remember watching.

Hi Jane

Me too

The night JR was shot I lived in a small village in Surrey. Just before the episode was transmitted, the whole village had a power cut and practically everyone descended on a neighbour, who had a generator. The event made national newspapers.

Think it may make history again as JR appears to have reincarnated in the form of Shamus!

That's more credible than being abducted by aliens and a whole series being a dream
