Help with Sage COA please
Permalink Closed

Hi Everyone,

I have a client on SAGE V10 (I know its old), anyway before putting on the journals the chart of accounts was fine.  I know which one has mucked it up, I've been asked to post 2400 which I know doesn't appear on the standard COA.  Anyway the journal was 2305 Directors Current account Credit and Debit the person (the director) on 2400, and the difference of the 2 is a Credit to P & L 3200.
Prior to creating the 2400 the COA was correct but since running all the financial reports it now says there is an error in the COA.

I have changed the 2400 code and put it under somethingelse but to no avail.  Is the 2400 code a mistake should it have been something else maybe? Any suggestions?

Any help is always appreciated, Many thanks

Amanda

Hi Amanda,

Have you tried clicking on the COA (on the bar across the top of Nominal Ledger) and click edit. In the long term liabilities change the high to 2400 and then click save. This will then include it in the CAO.

Hope this helps

Hi Denise,

Just tried that and it didn't work, still comes up with error on COA. What about if I reverse the journal concerned so it cancels out and then re-do the journal say with 2399 as the code instead would that work maybe?

Thanks,
Amanda

Hi Amanda,

You could try that, but if you go into chart of accounts and click on edit, then click on check at the bottom and preview that it should tell you what the error is.

Thanks Denise,

You are a Star, its not the 2400 code after all it was Cash control 1280, which I use quite abit due to the nature of this client.

That was something that I had forgotten that I could do, normally my COA are OK.

Many thanks, I knew I'd get the answer from this forum. Panic over now!!!

Regards
Amanda
