Woodgrove courses and exemptions
Permalink Closed

Hi there,

I am new here but have been reading the forum for some time and must say I am glad I found it. smile

I was wondering whether anyone has any experience of Woodgrove tutorials and exemptions from AAT foundation level based on their certificates.

As I was a complete rookie in bookkeeping I have enrolled at all 3 courses Woodgrove offers (beginners, intermediate and advance) all 3 finish with certificate.
However, as I decided now to go the AAT route I am not sure whether these certificates will be of any useconfuse
The courses definitely helped me gain some knowledged of bookkkeping and accounts but will these be accepted by a professional body I do not know.

Any suggestions or advices on the subject will be greatly appreciated. smile

You might want to contact AAT training providers and discuss with them. Some providers:

-BPP
-Kaplan
-Premier Training

Thank you camster! :)

I have contacted AAT directly but they may come back with the same answer to contact a training provided.

Thanks anyway!

Why don't you sit the ICB or IAB bookkeeping exams after the course, to gain additional certifacation from a recorgnised body?

In any case not sure whether the AAT does exemptions.

Thank you for your suggestion Louis.

I am jumping onto Level 4 diploma with IAB so happy I didnt waste my money. :)

Also, the AAT suggested the skill check and as I mentioned before consulation with a training provider. They said I will probably be exempted from foundation level.

Anyway, I thought i leave this information for others studying with Woodgrove tutorials. :0)

Hi Anna

I hope you can help.  I read your post about Woodgrove ICB course providers and wondered if you still did the course with them and if you did, what is the course like?

I enrolled on the ICB level 1 & 2, with a different course provider and their course work material was below the standard set by the ICB, I did try and give them a chance but after I received the 3rd set I was very unhappy and frustratedfrustrated.gifthat I've waisted my money and time with them.

I have passed level 1, I still need both computerised and manual at level 2 before I can become a self-employed bookkeeper, which is due to ill health.  After losing my job, I needed to work from home and that's why I'm asking about Woodgrove to see if their courses are any good.

I look forward to hearing from you soon.  Good luck with the AAT route.

Thank you.

Hi Sharon,

Welcome to the forum!

Sorry to hear you are unhappy with your course material. Could you please let the ICB know your feedback memberservices@bookkeepers.org.uk

The ICB does its best to uphold the standards of its providers, but sometimes they change things without letting us know.

Hi James

Thanks for the welcome.

I have already spoken to the ICB and they said the same.  But they can't get involved in my dispute with them but they will look into my complaint.

Because of all the problems with the course provider and tutor, it seams that I might have to pay for my level 2 exam myself. furious.gif

At the moment it would be a waste of money because I don't feel confident enough to take it.  Thats why I was asking Anna_82 about Woodgrove to see if they are any good.

Do you know if they are any good?

Here's hoping.

Hi

As far as I know all ICB providers are good, any complaints are dealt with quickly.

Although you are saying the ICB can't get involved.... Is your course provider actually accredited by the ICB?

Woodgrove tutorials are getting very good results, we have had positive feedback.

Hi,

I did the IAB Level 3 course with Woodgrove and thought they were fantastic, I had already done the Level 2 AAT when I left school (over 10 years ago) so not sure on exemptions.

Hope this helps
