S/A Guide from ICB
Permalink Closed

Well, what a turn up!!

I tried to order the HMRC S/A Guide from the ICB last June but before they could send it out they had run out and advised me to try HMRC direct; which like many of you know is quite a task.

Today the postie turned up with a parcel from the ICB (I hadn't ordered anything). It was a copy of the 2009/2010 HMRC S/A Guide.

Maybe they felt sorry for me because they'd kept promising that they were introducing their own guide and kept apologising each time the intended date passed.

I'm not complaining just surprised.

Hi Rachel,

That's great you got it!

I ordered mine 10 days ago through the HMRC order line after finally receiving the elusive SA reference and it still hasn't arrived. To be honest, I was thinking of writing to the Institute about this as it is totally ridiculous that they offer a self assessment exam and it is so difficult for people to get their hands on the book needed to do it. If enough people complain then hopefully they will be compelled to do something. So any of you in the same position, I would urge you to do the same for the benefit of others.

Thanks,

Carole

Hi

It is quite ironic for me to be reading this as yesterday I attended an HMRC workshop for P11d's and on one the chairs in the room was a small pile of the SA guide. As I had attended a few of the workshops in the past I knew the staff pretty well so I thought I would ask if I could have one (nothing ventured nothing gained) and guess what, they said I could have one. What a great result for me. It now has pride of place on my bookshelf

Hope yours turn up soon.

Regards

Mark

You lot are lucky! I am still waiting for SA agent code to be able to order the book...
I phoned up ICB a few weeks ago and they said they haven't got any but their own book is coming out soon ( i think they said june) and that i should register as SA agent and get one from HMRC.

Don't worry Attila it will come through eventually, but you may have to remind them if you haven't heard after a while
