Sage 50 Accounts 2009 - Nominal Ledger, Opening Balance doubling problem

Hi there,

I am a newbie to the forum but not to sage 50 accounts!

I use Sage 50 Account 2009

On one of the company's ledger, on trial balance, when running this report the 'Opening Balance' for account 9997 is doubling (the nominal ledger account) on the report, which is then putting the account out of balance

I know its doubling because the figure is literally double from eg £20,000 to £40,000 when we run the report

any help would be greatly appreciated

Have you entered opening balances for debtors or creditors and sales/purchases?

Whats the name of account 9997, as far as I know it's only used for suspense and mispostings.

If you have opened a balance in the suspense and the reason for the suspense is still in your other accounts somewhere then it will double.
