Just interested in the views of others from the forum.
I have used an 0845 number for about the last year and after much consideration (and a large amount of procrastination) I have decided it had to go.
I now have a local number and after talking to many people (including the guy who printed me 500 business cards recently) nearly everyone agrees local numbers are now the way to go.
What are your views?

Think you've made a good decision. One of the major problems with 0845 numbers is that they cost mobile phone users who get free landlines within their package. Whilst they give the impression of a large company, this can be a two edged sword when small and/or newly formed companies are looking for your services as they can assume you will be too expensive for them. Just my thoughts. Going to take a look at your new site now.

OK, here goes - please use this as constructive I can be quite pedantic when it comes to English.
First the Fixed Price bubble - the £45/month should be on one line which could be achieved by enlarging the bubble or decreasing the font size of the text or maybe changed to £45 a month.
Blue box attached to bubble - text should read "keeps you in control of your business"
Quote from Martin has too many "and" in the first sentence. Could re-word as "easy to understand so or therefore I know"

Too many uses of the word need/needs. 1st sentence - "the services" should be "the service" 2nd sentence - replace "needs" with "requirements" 4th sentence would benefit from re-wording perhaps to "Having a good bookkeeping system will ensure that you have all of the relevant information to enable you to make decisions about the future of your business" 5th sentence - "It will alo save you money on your self assessment by having all of the key figures at hand." Need 's' in also (and maybe change 'at hand' to available)
3rd para change 'are' to 'is' after services are tailored.... About Us
Although KM Bookkeeping Services appears to be plural it is actually a body or organisation and therefore singular and should use 'is' rather than 'are'
1st sentence - change 'specialise' to 'specialises'. 2nd para - Capital W for we. 3rd para, last sentence insert 'with' after 'you' and before 'accurate' 4th para, again change 'is' to 'are' and instead of 'exceptional circumstances' perhaps use the words 'unlikely event'. Last para - change 'options' to 'option' delete 'also' in the next sentence. Instead of 'Returning them' perhaps 'They will be returned'
Our Fees
second line - change 'and so' to 'therefore'. Delete 'Instead' as the first word of the second sentence begin with We ...

Last sentence. "This will allow you to make informed decisions for your businesses future." Change to 'decisions for the future of your business'

I think for a local company, a local number is needed, as an 0845 makes it seem you are not local at all. Also the caller pays more for the cost generally. I would definitely go for the standard number route.
I personally dislike 0845 numbers, mainly because I have a phone package that gives me inclusive calls to geographic landline numbers, so i have to pay for the privilege to call the number (HMRC read this a gives agents a geographic number). I also feel it generates money for the call receiver and again feel that I do not want to pay extra for the privilege.
