I have a really interesting situation. A friend has approached me with what I consider to be an amazing invention. He has a proto type manufactured and patent pending. Because he trusts me as a friend, he has asked me for advice on where to go with this.
Obviously I need to draw up a decent business plan.(Tips on websites?) and I have suggested Dragons Den!!
I realise this is a book keeping forum and that is my day job but I wanted to pick the brains of the "forum regulars" as I have always received great advice before. I feel confident I could attract investors in this and with the right plan this could be a global product.
I think Mr Dyson wrote a book on his experiences so I may hit the book shop. (Or E Bay!)
A good business plan is essential if you want to get investors. It needs to outline the product in full detail, the financing of it, the background of all involved, forecasts for the next 3 years, manufacturing detail, distribution detail, company set up, how you see the investors being involved, equity %'s.
You would also want to get a Confidentiality Agreement in place before you give out any details.
I have access to foreign investors if you need an introduction!
That is really helpfull. I think i can get local investment as I have a lot of confidence in this product. If I do the sums ans maybe I might need to contact you again. Going away for 2 weeks but will be working on this while on holiday. Regards, Tony.
