Which way to turn washer handle so it on?
Permalink Closed

Hi I bought a new washer and it not working on the hot cycle but I not sure I have the faucet handle turn in the right direction. Does someone know which why to turn the knob so it completely on. Not sure if it that or something wrong with washer.
Thanks For Any Help I know it a dumb question but I have turn the knob so many ways not not sure if there on or not.

Think you are on the wrong forum for this question but in the spirit of goodwill, I will have a go at answering your plumbing problem.

Assuming by faucet, you mean tap and that the same general rules apply where ever you are (based on the fact you called it a faucet, I presume you are not in the UK) then turn it anti clock wise to turn it on, and clockwise to turn it off (looking at the top of the tap/ faucet).

Hope your laundry comes out OK

Hi Steve,

I bet that you had to just go and check though didn't you! (I know that I just did).

Of course, thinking outside the box it all really depends on whether the plumber fitted it the right way up as to which way you turn it!

Hi Shaun

Of course I would never give tap advice with out checking first.

I would of thought if its an inline tap it wouldn't matter which way it's fitted but I could be wrong, might have to investigate. evileye

Steve I think only applies if it is a service valve.

Dishwasher and washing machine isolator taps work  like conventional taps as far as I'm aware.

Having seen other posts by maha22, I am starting to doubt if they are of this planet and have slipped in from a parallel universe.
