Hi, I was wondering if there was anyway of omitting the suspense accounts out of the P&L. I know there used to be an option to do this but i cant seem to find the option in the new software? thanks Clare
Yes it is from the COA and previously, in older versions, the suspense account wasnt in there. But now it is. If i remove it i just get error messages saying the COA is not complete thanks
I looked in my current COA and its not there and then I looked in a new co and it was. I guess if you upgrade, it upgrades the original data.
If you omit a ledger that is used, regardless of what it is, it will state that the COA is incomplete. Its a way of checking you have included all the ledgers. However, you can still run the P&L in the knowledge that you know what is missing.
to put it in the balance sheet I think you would have to create a new nominal code and put it in the correct section of the balance sheet when you set the code up.
this means you would have 2 suspense accounts but you would only use the one allocated to the balance sheet.
The one allocated to the profit & loss will not show if you do not use it or transfer out all transaction to the balance sheet one to ensure each month is nil so if you do a past month P&L it will not show.
If you try to amend the COA it will mess up and the nominal code ranges and can be quite tricky.
hope thats clear.
