Hi, (I've a nasty feeling I could get laughed off this site for asking this ... but here goes),
I've passed City & Guilds Manual Bookkeeping Levels 1 and 2 (and also C&G Computerised Accounts - Level 1) in 2009.
I'm now considering doing Level 3 (C&G 8991) at my local college from Jan 2011. Would this be a mistake? Ought I to stick to IAB or ICB courses only at Level 3?
And do you know if one can take C&G Bookkeeping Level 3 any further, is it recognised by any bodies / employers etc or do they only recognise IAB / ICB / AAT etc?
Level 3 with C&G, ICB and IAB are all much of a muchness, you pays your money and takes your choice!!!!
However, when it comes to employers - most of them would never have heard of ICB or IAB. They would know about C & G and almost all expect AAT.
If you are thinking of going further, I believe AAT has exemptions for IAB, C & G and OCR.
ICB and IAB are good qualifications for self-employment rather than employed work - not because of the content but because of the recognition (or lack of it) by employers.
