The two principal figures without which no project is possible: the perfection of the circle, the principle of all regular bodies, and the equilateral square. (Fra Luca Pacioli)
James's mention of a holiday reminded me of a question I was thinking of posting so may as well do it here as the subjects been raised.
I'm assuming those in private practice will have several clients and that you do their books on a weekly basis. But if you want two weeks off for holidays, how to you juggle it around your work? You can't do more beforehand as the bookkeeping happen's after the fact, or at least from my student perspective it does, so do you just work long hours in the weeks after you come back?
I do as much as possible before I go on holiday and pre-warn my clients that I am away and won't be available (especially if abroad on hols with the family), then when I come back I just work a few more hours to catch up, luckily if I go away in August as I had kids no ones VAT return is due the end of august, so at least that one less thing to worry about. Its generally ok, was this time, just had to fit alot more in since I have come back, but it soon evens itself out and gets back to normal.
