Help loading avatar

I keep trying to load a piture for my avatar, but when I click on the button to load a file, nothing happens. I can't even see a list of the Dallas ones widely used to pick from either. What am I doing wrong?

I'd like to load a .jpg file from my pc as my avatar, is it ok to do that?

Hi Phil

The Dallas themed avatars are all uploaded from members PC.

Just check the dimesions and file size of the image you want to upload, select the browse option and go to the folder on your local PC that has the image you want to use.

Thanks for the help, Bill

There are 2 options to change avatar, one to upload a file and one to link to a file. Former does nothing when I click on the big button below, latter wants me to input a URL address but I don't have my own website.

I wonder if there is a problem with the site as it is goinf through some sort of upgrade...?

Phil,

If you want to use the url option you can host the picture on a "free site" e.g imageshack - http://imageshack.us/

It's works in almost the same way as Bill described

1. Click on browse button
2. Point to the directory on youre pc where the image is saved.
3. Click upload
4. Series of links to the saved image will appear
5. Cut and paste the link to your profile here.

Thanks ADAS. I think I'm doing what you and Bill describe but it isn't working, ie:
- click my username
- then click Avatar to go into Change Avatar
- select Upload a file
- click on the wide button labelled "Select a file".

The button doesn't respond to mouse click. I think is a problem with my system or with the website, hopefully one of the website system administrators will see this and comment. I'll do without an avatar in meantime or might try going via Imageshack.
