CIS sub-contractors: ways to get reduced deductions
Permalink Closed

A new (in both senses) subcontractor has started doing work for my client. I think it's the first time he's been verified by HMRC and this process puts him into the High Deduction bracket.

Is there anything I could suggest that he could do, that would help him be assessed for the lower deduction band? It would certainly help his cashflow not to have 30% of his wage taken off at source. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Andy

That's really helpful - thanks very much.
I'll print him the chapter and verse as I'm not convinced he uses the internet.
