I have already signed up for the basic listing but am shying off paying for the upgrade particularly as I am not sure how propsective clients will find us.
Having been bitten once by the promise of top listings with SEO (Yell.com, in one year not one single lead), I would be reluctant to pay out for something that may not meet expectations.
Perhaps an initial free trial might encourage me. If I can see it works, then I will happily spend money to keep it going.
Good feedback, we are going to push this at all recruitment agencies / banks / SME groups etc. (using the funds raised from the listings)
The premium sales are going well, its the free listings I want to boost, only just over 800 on there so far.
Are any ICB practising members reading this who have not signed up for the free listing?
Hi James
It is good to see that the ICB is promoting this but I feel a bit disappointed that you are only using the funds raised from the listings to do it, so the more that pay the more promotion is done.
It appears that the members are paying for their own promotion.
Could the ICB not consider investing some of their own profits/retained earnings into this to help all of its members
The ICB is not for profit, so it only has its members money (no profit or share holder funds).
It probably wont just be from the Premium listings, however, if only 100 people sign up thats £9,600 per year of advertising.
Could put the Practice Licence fee up, I guess that is a discussion. But basically the members would always have to pay for their own promotion, its just you would get more with 3,500 of you rather than just you.
I guess the question is how far do you want to go towards a kind of franchise, who charge £15,000 - £25,000 just for their advertising (also stationery though).
I just looked at my listing on ICB Directory and I see I am allowed to do cash flow forecasts (what I studied doing CFAB) what is very good and makes me happy I just don't seem to remember any kind of cash flow in my ICB studies or do I? ;)
