What Course to Study CIMA, AAT, OU?
Permalink Closed

Hello!

I do apologise this is not a new post in anyway whatsoever this question appears to have been asked and answered many times but im still unsure what route to take.

I have only just returned from travelling after two years away and now have a rough idea where i want to be in 10 years. I would like to work for an humanatarian / environmental NGO in a financial role of some sort!!! (rough idea :) ) as I come from an Accounts Payable background I was looking into commencing an OU course in financial services, being unemployed (actively seeking employment) there is a fee waiver for me all good!
Well after speaking to a number of recruitment agencies I have been advised to perhaps think about AAT or CIMA entry-level instead.
Having then looked into both and 1 day deciding AAT then the next CIMA I found a torrent with the 2010 / 2011 CIMA study notes C01 - C05. and now swaying towards the CIMA entry level.

I presume CIMA entry level certificate give me better knowledge to go on and complete the professional exams? What level in AAT is the CIMA certificate the equivalent off?
Are there any fee waivers being unemployed? Can I use ILA scotland funding that i can use towards paying for CIMA i understand this is possible with AAT?
jeez not even mentioned ACCA yet!!

I understand this is perhaps only a phone call away to CIMA but i would like unbiased opinion here first before i proceed.

Thank you in advance for your help

Craig
