Tony when I checked my proof of posting receipt it was sent exam off on 8th, but it didn't arrive at ICB until 11th October, so I've still got a wee wait until I get my result. Will let you know how I get on when I hear!
Would love some advice on how to pass :( totally disheartened. I only managed 80% in my exam a couple of days ago. I paid ICB for the report which wasnt very helpful at all. Not sure whether to re sit or not. It would now mean me sitting the exam for a different tax year to what material I have.
It seems a bit daft not being told what part you went wrong on, because I would want to know where I was weak so I could concentrate on improving on that aspect, rather than doing the whole study from scratch again.
Incidentally, what's the pass rate? When I went to college to do a business studies course (many moons ago) 40% was a pass, and 80% was a credit.

Hi John
Not sure about those exams the poster refers to (ICB perhaps given some of the moans and groans about feedback on exam failures we have seen on here. Although could be ATT??? No knowledge of that lot!), but the AAT which you will be starting soon is 70%. At the moment its either a fail or 'competent' which I think is an awful word if you manage to get 100%....not that you would really ever know as the 'competent' range is from 70-100%. Anyway I think they have responded to feedback on that one, or have just decided themselves that its not great and are introducing percentages back into the mix. Not quite sure when it starts. Good thing as well is that they give you the area of the syllabus where you have met/exceeded or failed to meet the requirements with the results so at least you have a scoobie where you mightve gone wrong. Have you started any of it yet?
