Payroll software

Looking for some help on selecting the right payroll software.

Client has a busy cafe/restaurant employing from 6 people in the low season to about 15 in the high season.  All salaries are paid weekly and paid according to hours worked.  Software needs to be user friendly as it likely that my client may do the weekly wages with me checking off and do all the other stuff.  Some recording of other information such as sick and holiday leave would be useful. Cost as always is a factor as they don't want to pay out too much for software if they don't need to.  I only have experience of Sage payroll so any suggestions will be gratefully received.

Thanks
J

Problem with saying something is "user friendly" is how competent is the user. Payroll isn't simple although to those used to it then it will seem straightforward. I suppose you could always give them a helping hand till they get the hang of it which shouldn't take too long.

Having said that - you could try out Payroll Manager from Moneysoft.

Try it out free for a month.

Hi Jane

I can recommend 12Pay

http://www.12pay.co.uk/

You can download a free slightly limited but fully functioning version and check it out first (no time limits).

It gets good reviews.

Bill

Great, thanks both for your replies.  I'm away on business for a couple of weeks but will check them out when I get back.  Will come back with questions/views/comments.

J
