Two years and bowing out
Permalink Closed

Well, after over 2 years a member of this forum having bought the Bookcert Package I feel it's time for me to bow out.

I've watched the forum evolve and change and now find that it's no longer for me.  I thank everyone who has given me help and assistance over the past few years and wish everyone luck.

Kris

I for one am very sad to hear that Kris.

You have given a lot of support to many members and your input will be missed.

If you cannot be pursuaded to stay, then I wish you well, and every success for the future, which I am sure you will have.

Good luck

Bill

Good luck Kris.

Just had a look at your website again, can't help feeling you should get rid of that plumber story at the top..

Also what happened to the other services you provided ie the web design, something I was previously interested in?

I've allways enjoyed reading your posts and wish you nothing but success for the future.

It's a real shame you feel you can't stick around no

No dont go Kris

Your posts have been very supportive to new bookkeepers

or is this a ploy to change your username to Cliff Barnes with the aim of joining the Dallas gang?

Oh Kris - it is so sad that you are going -- your marketing advice has been invaluable to everyone - can you not reconsider for all your fans out here?

All the best, kind regards

Although I'm a new member, I have been reading a lot of posts for a while.

I can see why Kris had his account deleted after the post with him and James, but surely James should have had his account deleted too, they were 6 and half a dozen to me.

Sad, I did take a lot of good advice away from Kris' posts.

Oh don't get me wrong Sue, I don't think for a minute that will happen. But to delete a long term member who says they actually bought a bookcert pack which probably pays for this forum, I don't think is particularly right either. I'm sure there are reasons, but it would be nice to be told as members.

I read a lot of posts over the past and it seems to me Kris and James just didn't ever hit it off, but I dont think (other than the recent post with James) any posts of Kris's deserved to get his account deleted. But we are where we are, and the world is not a democracy.

I would guess that in the opinion of the site owners he crossed the line and broke the rules.

"While debating and discussion is fine, we will not tolerate rudeness, insulting posts, personal attacks or purposeless inflammatory posts. Our decision is final in these matters."

I don't know which rule he actually broke - but my opinion the above rule may have applied to his thread on the ICB.

I'm sure Kris has his own forum anyway. I remember seeing a link to a forum on his signature on another forum but I can't remember which forum.

I agree, that thread did get pretty heated but, there were others on that thread getting a little hot under the collar too. But I do agree with you Stuart.

Now that's got me a bit freaked. I don't recall posting my first name on this board yet someone that has joined today knows it. In fact someone only joined an hour and a half ago. confuse

EDIT : Unless you know me in the real world, where a lot of people know me as "Peasie".

Dear All

Although we will not comment on why Kris had his individual account deleted, we would like to make all members and readers aware that the new user 'MartinP' (his comments above), has the same email address and IP address as the old user kjmcculloch
(aka Kris). Pretending to be someone else is not within the rules and spirit of an open discussion forum, and we have therefore removed 'MartinP's access to the forum.

We have been running The Book-keepers Forum for nearly 4 years now, and we have strived to provide a welcoming, friendly and above all open discussion forum. We want the forum to be as independent as possible, although we will obviously moderate when we feel it is absolutely necessary.

Please be assured that any action we do take is made to ensure that The Book-keepers Forum continues to be a free and open resource which book-keepers can trust.

If any member/reader has any concerns regarding this thread please feel free to contact us at forum@bookcert.co.uk.

With best regards,

The Book-keepers Forum Support Team

That would explain how he knew my real name. I probably shouldn't have drawn attention to that post now I think about it. It had been puzzling me for the last hour how he knew my name.
