Does anyone know the telephone number for the HMRC central agent authorisation team? I can't seem to find it online?

There is not a number on the HMRC website for them it just has the address and says that everything must be put in writing and sent to them.

It's an absolute nightmare trying to contact HMRC to register as an agent. I've recently tried to change my details with them, and its taken about 2-3 months to receive a reply. 

Stephen and BudgetB are right, the telephone number has been withdrawn and the only way to contact them is in writing - which takes 2-3 months!!! 

What a joke!disbelief

I have been waiting for about two months for an authorisation code and as i live not far away from longbenton i decided to call in last week and see if i could hurry them up but no one would see me
