I have Sage 50 at home which I backup to an external hard drive then restore on my office pc. Sage always wants to look on the external drive (drive E:) on my office pc, so if I haven't got it with me I can't load my data. How do I get it to look on my C: drive?
I assume the Sage Programme is actually installed on your office pc and that it is installed on your C drive? Sage has a file called "Company" which tells it where to look for its data.
It depends on what operating system you are using and what version of Sage you are using as to where the data is stored. When you do manage to open Sage on the office pc, if you go to the Help menu and About, then click on the System Information tab and on Directories it will show you the path to the Program Directory, the Data Directory and the Settings Directory. If you look at the Data Directory, this is where it is looking for the data.
If it is your E: drive then you will have to change the Company file. If you let me know, I will tell you how to do it.
