Sage 2011 / IE8 - bug??
Permalink Closed

Thought I'd pass on my experience.

I uninstalled IE8 from laptop because I wanted to try Firefox.

For some reason this effectively broke Sage 2011. Once I switched browsers whenever I tried to load a company in Sage it would bring up the "accounts" directory.

After a lot of heartache, installing and unistalling Sage, applying patches, I finally realised what it was - reinstalled IE8 and it fixed the problem.

I've now got 2 browsers but at least I fixed Sage.

Generally I've found that uninstalling IE always breaks something. Computers don't seem to be able to run without it!

I use Google Chrome at work, and Firefox at home as in my opinion IE is useless. It is however installed on both computers and just sits there unused. Can be handy to have a second browser on a computer in case the first one gets corrupted as to mend a browser you do need to be able to access their website.
