Do I have to sign up to one of the online learning courses? or is it possible to obtain and self study from books available, then just sit the required exams at at appropriate AAT test centre?
I think with AAT you have to go through a training provider, you can do it long distance learning or maybe if your local college did it you could go to evening classes. I don't think they will let you study on your own and then just pay for an exam at a test centre.
I sure if i am wrong someone will come on here and say so or maybe able to give you more information about it. I know you have to join AAT as a student member which from memory is £74 per year, and always goes up a couple of quid per year on annual memebership.
What is your end goal (set up as a bookkeeper, get employment, or become an accountant?) As you can do self study with the ICB, but I am not sure you can do it with the AAT as their registration form requires a college.
However, someone did say on here that AAT are going to allow self study, but I cannot find any information on it.
