Hi all I am Martyn and just started looking at this forum have been doing Bookkeeping for past 5 years on and off .what a great place to find info when you are stuck on something and to get help when you most need it as we all do form time to time so looking forward to using it and my be chat with some of you.
You are right, this is a great resource if you ever get stuck.
One thing, you might want to change your avatar, as James from the ICB is often on here, and they use their crest as their avatar (check their profile)
I agree with Bill - they are very strict on the use of the ICB logo. I'm sure you are only allowed to use their logo on a website if it links back to the ICB website.

Only strict because the ICB receives complaints :)
I guess as long as people on here didn't think you also represented the ICB it would be ok, maybe you could add it to your avatar but with your membership number underneath? Or you could put it in your signature.
More than happy to have members flying the flag as it were.
The only reason I advised Martyn was because I understood that there were strict controls over the use of the crest, i.e. prior approval was needed from the ICB before any publication, displaying it must not appear to represent the ICB, it can only be used by members is practice (you can only download the official version from the Members in Practice area), and the member must show their practice licence number underneath.
Had a quick look on the ICB website and it still says the same thing.
Sorry Martyn don't mean to confuse things (I am now confused too!). I initially mentioned it because I didn't want you to get excommunicated.
Just that when I put the crest on my stationery and website, I had to submit them all to the ICB for approval before I could use them, and it took several drafts before I could publish the content.
I will be interested in James comments, as everytime I update a page on my website, or produce a leaflet, I have been getting approval. If it is not necessary, it saves me a lot of time.
Hi I dont know that you do have to keep getting approval and the way James is putting it the ICB are happy for me to ues the crest on hear .i am a member and hold a Practice Licence but best see what James comes back with as he is at the ICB so best one to let us know
