Andica Software-Urgent!
Permalink Closed

Hi,

I am a qualified bookkeeper & a friend has just come to me to do his tax return for 2009-2010.

I am registered as an agent but haven't done any SA as yet, anyway as it has to be in by 31st Jan and him not having his log in details it appears the only way to file is with commercial software. I am looking at Andica as it seems the cheapest and have heard good reviews but am wondering if I will be able to submit as an agent with the personal version which is only 12.95+vat as opposed to the cheapest professional version at 59.95+vat has anyone done this?

Will call Andica in the morning but would like to start asap so any help would be most welcome!

Thanks
Pamela

Hi Pamela

You should be able to.

I haven't used the personal SA100 software but did us the partnership SA800 software and it does allow a "filing only" service, using your agent log in. All it means is that until you get fully authorised, HMRC will not discuss any specifics tax return queries with you.

I actually found out by mistake, when I accidently submitted a clients return, that I was still awaiting the log in details. I had used my agent login and it went through. I was concerned that this might cause an error at the HMRC end, so phoned them. They said it would not cause a problem, as third party software users can submit a filing only return.

I would try it. I am sure you would get a submission failure if it was not acceptable.

Edit: Forgot to say Andica is easy to use (well the SA800 version is) and I am pretty sure that the only differnce between single user and professional, is the number of licences/ clients that can be processed

Hi there,

I bought the personal version last night and registered the software this evening. I am also an agent and so far so good - there are fields to put in your agent details / codes etc. I won't be submitting for a couple of days but everything is working fine for me.

The software is easy to use and comes with a really handy user guide - I've bought the software to do a partnership return and it's working out well so far.

Hope this is helpful.

Thanks for the speedy replies! I will call to double check in the morning as my daughter has decided she isn't going to bed so won't get much chance to start tonight now!
Will update in the morning.

Just to update.

It is possible to submit as an agent using the personal version.

The software was very user friendly and I would recommend.

Thanks
Pamela
