Hi I've tried to contact a moderator to remove the very first topic I started but there is no message option. Can you tell me how to get a topic removed.

Hi Noola,

I think that the problem with removing topics once they are out there is that quite often the replies carry some good advice. I'm thinking espeichally of some of the exchanges amongst the Amigo's that started with posts not related to where they went at all.

I appreciate that some times there may be good reasons for removing topics such as where they degenerate into arguments or become deflamatory or where posts are put on here that are nothing to do with the site (such as the company selling computer memory chips that appeared briefly on here about a year ago). However, I've just had a look at your first post and can't see anything wrong with it.

Sorry I missed it on the first pass though as I was away on contract and didn't get to say hi to all of the newbies. However, please consider this as a big retrospective hi and welcome to the forum.

All the best,

Shaun.

Hi Shamus thanks for your welcome :)

And thanks for your reply. I have a personal reason for wanting to remove it. Mainly because I don't want someone in particular to read it. If it can't be removed no probs.

No probs.

Have you tried amending it to remove the bit that you don't want seen rather than deleting the topic?

I know that sometimes you can't amend old threads but it's worth a try.

That aside, how would the person that you don't want to read this definitively recognise you? What makes you think that they would come on this site and if they did what are the odd's of finding that post out of the many thousands on the site?

I know that everything is possible but you may be worrying unneccessarily on this one... Then again, I really think that it's ingrainned in we financial bods to always think worst case scenario.
