Changing the date of my financial year
Permalink Closed

Hello

Ive registered my very small business as from Dec 1st 2010 but I would like my financial/Trading year to start  from April 6th in line with the tax year to make my year end accounts easier. Is it possible to do this, or do I have to stick with Dec to Nov 30th ?

Many thanks

Hi Suzie,

Your first accounts can go from 1.12.10 - 5.4.11. Is it software that is constraining you?

Other question is have you registered it as a sole trader or limited company? Even then you can shorten/ extend the year end.

In that case, I agree with you, it would be less complicated. Would suggest your first period is up to 5.4.11 (or 31 March 2011 if that's easier).
